Detailed
Symptom Survey
This will assess nutritional
deficiencies, vitamin and mineral imbalances, weak organ systems
and toxin accumulation. You may get a “clean bill of health”
from you doctor. There may be no abnormal medical tests, yet
things do not feel quite right. Perhaps energy levels are low,
you have aches or pains,
poor concentration, dry skin, gas and bloating -- all of these
signs and many more can relate to nutritional imbalances. By
studying your body language, we can assess deficiencies/excesses
of specific vitamins, minerals, proteins and other factors that
help determine underlying causes.
Food Intake Record
Biochemical individuality is the term that denotes how we differ
nutritionally. We do need the same food factors (i.e. proteins,
fats, minerals, vitamins, fiber, etc.) but we do not all need
them in the same proportions or from the same source. Our ability
to digest, absorb and assimilate nutrients varies widely from
person to person. We have organs that differ in efficiency and
in their need for specific nutritional support. Some of us have
unusually high needs for one or more factors because of inborn
metabolic weaknesses. Because of allergy or intolerance, many
of us react adversely to foods on which others thrive. Some
of us have stressful lifestyles that place high nutritional
demands on our bodies. You need to find the diet that works
best for you. Do not limit yourself to what you have read in
books or what others may have told you is “ideal.”
Your body is unique! An eating plan will be developed that suits
your specific needs.
Personal Health &
Family Medical History
You will complete a personal health history and family medical
history.
Each person is unique with inherent differences psychologically,
biologically and genetically. Many of the factors affecting
your health today may be related to genetic predisposition.
However, twin studies have shown that genetics account for only
twenty percent of what will be expressed in an individual’s
general make-up. The remaining eighty percent will be influenced
by many other factors – nutrition, environment, family
experiences, relationships and lifestyle. Although genetic factors
can directly influence the expression of disease, there are
many ways you can take preventative measures to insure a different
outcome.
Environmental Checklist
We are all knowingly or unknowingly, suffering the cumulative
effects of negative environmental feedback in the form of chemical
pollution and radiations at all times. There are ways to offset
and protect oneself from the implications of these stressors,
but if one is unaware of the causes, effects and solutions,
aren’t we more vulnerable than we care to be? We all live
in the age of mechanical stressors. There is no place on the
entire planet where pollution is undetectable. All products
of current technology from drugs, fertilizer, pesticides, solvents,
detergents, plastics, gases, building materials, clothes, carpet,
furniture, faxes and copiers, our diet with chemical preservatives,
additives and flavoring all leave behind their toxic, free radical
producing wastes. Being aware of causative factors and solutions
gives the opportunity to remove and protect ourselves from these
influences.
